Teaching Philosophy

Because I believe that learning is most effectively accomplished in a comfortable environment, I foster an atmosphere in my classroom where respect is essential, questions are encouraged, and making mistakes is simply part of the learning process. Math is a subject that is mastered best by doing, so I try to maximize classroom time for working and getting assistance. I incorporate several teaching and learning methods to allow for individual learning styles. No matter what level a student is currently at, they can always use encouragement, so I see one of my roles as a “math training coach.”
