4038.5 Outside Employment

Full-time and continuing part-time employees of the College may perform consulting, teaching, research, or other professional services for a person or entity other than the College for compensation, providing that the performance of such outside professional services does not interfere with their work performance or normal work schedule, constitute a conflict of interest, nor place the employee in competition with the College. If consideration is being given to teaching or providing other professional services, employees are encouraged to consult with their supervisors.

Any full-time or continuing part-time employee who performs outside consulting, teaching, research, or professional services in violation of this policy will be subject to progressive discipline, up to and including dismissal from the College's employment pursuant to applicable Board policies and procedures.
