Danville Area Community College Liberal Arts Division DACC Players will present Charley’s Aunt on April 13, 14, and 15 at the Bremer Theater on the DACC campus. Friday and Saturday’s shows will be at 7:00 PM and Sunday’s show at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased at the door and cost is $10.00 for adult and $5.00 for students.
Set in Victorian England in 1892, the story is about Jack who loves Kitty Verdun and Charley who loves Amy Spettigue. They invite the ladies to meet Charley's wealthy aunt from Brazil, "where the nuts come from". Cancelling her visit at the last minute, the millionaire aunt sends the boys into cataclysmic confusion because they were depending on her to chaperone their dates with the young ladies. What do they do now? You must attend to see just who portrays the aunt.
The following DACC students are performing in the play: Aaron Gilpin, Matthew Osborne, Haley Youhas, Jacob Techtow, Molly Campbell, Alishia DeBord, Selena Shaw, Julius “Theo” Engel, Brandon Hoag, Christian Rogger, and Sydney Runion. Manak Jain is the set designer. Guest director is Jacob Ault, a DACC Players alumnus. Directors are Phillip Langley and Glenda Boling.
