Black History Month Event: The Lewis Influence

Black History Month Event: The Lewis Influence

Sponsored by DACC’s TRIO Student Support Services/Student Success Center, is set for Noon-1PM on Wednesday, Feb. 20 in the Student Union.

At 2PM in the Student Success Center will be a presentation for all current TRIO Student Support Services participants.

TRIO Director Shanay Wright said the Lewis Influence is a presentation featuring twin brothers, Ron and Rodney Lewis.
Ron and Rodney Lewis are identical twin brothers who are educators and consultants with The Lewis Influence, a company designed to support the needs of first-generation college students. Both are first generation college graduates (also community college graduates) who understand the barriers and obstacles that may students face while pursuing their college goals. Ron is an educator, trainer and coach and former TRIO Student Support Services Director and Rodney is the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources for the St. Charles school district in St. Charles, MO.  Ron (we are still waiting on a confirmation for Rodney to join Ron) will conduct two presentations on Wednesday, February 20.

Presentation #1- will take place at noon in the Student Union and is open to all. During this presentation, Ron will share his and his brother's story and discuss various topics of leadership, academic success and diversity.

Presentation #2- will take place at 2PM in the Student Success Center, Cannon Hall and is open to all current TRIO Student Support Services participants. During this presentation, Ron will present on the topic of G.R.I.T. (Guts, Resilience, Intensity and Tenacity). He will also autograph the brothers' book, GRITTY, for our TRIO Leadership Ambassadors.
