Spring Break begins Monday, March 16, 2020, for DACC students. DACC Spring Break has been extended from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27.
Danville Area Community College is committed to the health and well-being of its faculty, staff, and students. During this extended Spring Break, the following steps will be taken to mitigate the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on learning activities:
There will be no classes held at the main Danville campus or the Hoopeston Higher Learning Center March 16-20. Faculty and staff will report as usual.
College Express students will remain within their high schools March 16-20.
Regularly scheduled Spring Break will occur March 23-27.
At the end of the regularly scheduled Spring Break, College officials will re-evaluate the Coronavirus pandemic situation. If the situation with COVID-19 has resolved sufficiently to allow classes to resume, they will do so on Monday, March 30.
Should conditions warrant continued social distancing on March 30, e-learning for lecture classes will commence. Any class other than lectures including labs, clinicals, College Express, Fitness Center, and tutoring services will meet as regularly scheduled, regardless of the e-learning decision on March 30.
Students who might not normally have an online class will have an opportunity to sharpen their e-learning skills through Blackboard tutoring sessions scheduled on campus the week of March 16-20. Please refer to the College’s Coronavirus webpage, www.dacc.edu/coronavirus for the full schedule.
Updates to this response plan will be published on the Coronavirus webpage as they become available.
