COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Study in preliminary sketching and final layout plans.  Principles of landscape design are applied to selected problems.

PREREQUISITES:
HORT176

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Demonstrate basic building skills working with wood, concrete, pavers, and water features.
  • Learn the tools used in the landscape design and construction process.
  • Understand the landscape design layout and installation process.
  • Develop a perception on how landscapes affect and provide for other cultures throughout the world.

    1. Methods for setting posts

    1. Install brick edging/pathway
  4. Retaining walls
  5. Stairs
    1. Measure slope and calculate stairs

    1. Use wet saw, brick set, stone hammer, chainsaw

  7. Pricing landscape designs
    1. Price a design
