Online CNA Skills Refresher Course

Danville Area Community College Adult Education is offering a Certified Nursing Assistant Skills Refresher Course for those whose license has lapsed. The course will be held ONLINE June 23 and 24 from 8:30AM-12:30PM.

DACC Creates Limited Campus Reopening Plan

The regular summer class session begins at Danville Area Community College on Monday, June 8, and some student services offices will open to the public on a limited basis at that time.

A letter addressed to students and employees at the end of May reads in part, “As the State of Illinois enters Phase 3 of the Governor’s Reopen plan, Danville Area Community College is committed to providing students, staff, and visitors with a safe and healthy learning environment.

DACC Corporate Ed Virtual Safety Training Programs - June 4 & June 17

COVID-19 & Effective Safety Training

Danville Area Community College’s Corporate Education is offering Virtual Safety Training. The training will be conducted by Tom Grey virtually via Zoom. Meeting information will be provided prior to the meetings.

COVID-19 virtual training is designed to cover What’s Next and will be held June 4 from 9-11AM. The training will cover:

DACC to Confer Degrees in Virtual 2020 Commencement Exercises

Danville Area Community College is pleased to confer degrees and certificates during virtual Commencement exercises broadcast via YouTube Friday, May 22, 2020 at 7PM at and repeated on WBUI-TV Channel 23 Saturday, May 23 at 11AM . The broadcast will be available on the YouTube channel for viewing after the Premier.

Over 400 graduates, earning Associate degrees and certificates during the Fall 2019 or Spring or Summer 2020 semesters, submitted photos to participate in this year’s ceremony.

DACC Offering Free GED Prep Class

Danville Area Community College’s Adult Education department is offering a FREE online High School Equivalency/GED preparation class. The class will be held online June 22-July 23, 2020.

No need to put your future on hold. We may not be able to serve you in a classroom setting, but we are still here to serve your educational needs online.

The course is for students who are 16 years old or older and are in DACC’s district.

Live Sports Action Thriving at DACC

Danville – For anyone craving live sports action, the DACC Gamers team at Danville Area Community College has you covered. While other sports have been shuttered or relegated to re-runs, eSports have continued to meet in weekly, online competition.

Under advisor Michael “Guido” Esteves guidance, weekly Smash Brothers tournaments are continuing at DACC on Saturday afternoons. The competition on Saturday, May 9, will feature 175 players. Tournament play begins at 2pm and it is currently free to participants.

DACC to Hold Virtual Commencement, Celebrate Grads - YouTube Premier Set for May 22, 2020

As Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker extended the state-wide stay-at-home order through the month of May and social distancing looked to become the rule rather than the exception going into Fall, officials at Danville Area Community College made the difficult decision to let go of hopes for a traditional Commencement ceremony – even delayed by several weeks – and moved forward with a plan for Virtual Commencement via YouTube on May 22 at 7pm.

DACC Registration Begins by Phone - Special Price for Summer Online Classes

When summer and fall class registration began at Danville Area Community College today – three weeks after it was originally scheduled – it had a new, Coronavirus twist. 

The first change is the way students are being registered for classes.

DACC Vice President Cunningham to Retire

DANVILLE, IL, APR. 7, 2020 – In his 16-year career at Danville Area Community College, Mike Cunningham managed more than 70 construction projects on the Danville Campus and the Hoopeston Learning Center. But as Mr. Cunningham retires on June 30 from his position as vice president of administrative services, the project that may well earn him the most acclaim will be one he has yet to complete.

DACC Postpones Commencement Program Until Summer

Officials at Danville Area Community College have notified students that Commencement exercises have been postponed, for now, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, the College has stated its intention to hold a complete ceremony later in the summer, whenever health officials deem large gatherings safe.
