DACC Student Art Show at The Alley Gallery

Danville Area Community College art students are participating in an All Student Art Show which is being held through April 30, 2018 at the Alley Gallery, 113-1/2 Vermilion, Danville Illinois.

The opening will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4-5:30PM at the Alley Gallery.

Citizenship Class and ESL

Danville Area Community College Adult Education Department is offering a six-week citizenship class that will prepare local residents for passing the US Department of Immigration and Naturalization test that will lead to their becoming American citizens.

The Citizenship Class begins April 9, 2018 and will be held on Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 6-8:30 p.m. on the DACC campus in Danville, IL.

Career Connections Job Fair Scheduled at DACC

Wednesday, April 18, 9 am to 1 pm

Career Connections Job Fair 2018 will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Danville Area Community College Mary Miller Gymnasium.

The public is invited to meet area employers who are recruiting for part-time and full-time positions. Last year more than 50 employers with job openings attended.

DACC Honor Society Inuducts 32 New Members

DACC’s Pi Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society inducted 32 new members on Wednesday, March 7, during its Spring Induction Ceremony. Vermilion County Board Chairman Mike Marron was the keynote speaker. The complete list of inductees follows.

Help an adult learn to read

Did you know that one in every five adults has difficulty reading the newspaper, the instructions on a medicine bottle, or a note from their child’s teacher? There are more than  20 million adults in the United States -- hundreds locally – who share this problem. Literacy tutors are needed to assist these adults in improving their reading skills.

Women's History Month Activities at DACC

The Diversity subteam for Women's History Month is excited to announce guest speaker Julia Megan Sullivan. This dynamic and fun speaker will present on "How Social Media Helped Me Stop Lying". Please come join us in the Student Union on Wednesday, March 7 from 12PM-1PM.  Please encourage all to attend because Julia's message will be one that can bring positive change to everyone! DACC Offering FREE GED/HSE Evening Class at Hoopeston Higher Learning Center

Danville Area Community College’s Adult Education is offering FREE GED/HSE evening classes at the the DACC – Hoopeston Higher Learning Center. Class begins March 13, 2018 on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Registration will take place the first day of class.

There is no cost to the student and books will be provided. Must be 18 or older. Other options can be found online at DACC’s website under GED Adult Education.

DACC to Host National Tournament for 25th Year

Danville Area Community College and the city of Danville will again host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Men’s National Basketball Tournament at the DACC campus March 20-24, 2018. Tournament pairings will not be available until later in March. The top 8 teams will be seeded by the Division II Men’s Basketball Committee via teleconference once all district champions are determined. The remaining 8 teams will be placed on the bracket by blind draw. Each college will play a minimum of two games in the tournament.

DACC AG DAY - Thursday, April 12, 2018

The Danville Area Community College Ag Club, with the support of area agricultural organizations, businesses and individuals, takes this opportunity to announce Ag Day 2018.  Children and adults, including farmers, will find a variety of events available to them on THURSDAY, APRIL 12 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the DACC campus.
