Illinois Works’ FREE Pre-apprenticeship program can prepare you to successfully transition to a Department of Labor registered apprenticeship in the trades!

About the Program:

Illinois Works and Danville Area Community College's Pre-Apprenticeship program will prepare students to successfully transition to a registered apprenticeship in the following trades:

  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Construction

In addition to gaining the experience and skills necessary for union apprenticeships, students will also earn a certificate from DACC, setting them apart from other applicants.

Tuition and fees for this program will be entirely grant-funded. What's more, students will earn money while attending class and may be eligible for assistance with childcare, housing, and tutoring, if needed.

  • All Illinois residents are welcome with an emphasis on women, people of color and veterans

Eligibility Requirements

  • Minimum Age of 18 Years Old
  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED/HiSET
  • Illinois Resident
