The Workforce Investment
Board assesses and evaluates the employment and training needs of the local
business community and the local labor force. In doing so the Board
considers the concerns of the entire local economy and its future
development plans, not only those of special industry groups or population
segments.
The Board assesses and
evaluates the capacity and ongoing operations of existing local education
and training institutions; how the institutions are currently meeting the
needs of the local economy, how the institutions are prepared to meet future
needs.
The Board
identifies gaps between the present and future workforce needs and local
institutional capacity.
