Welcome to the Vermilion County Illinois Employment and Training Center (IETC) website.  We hope that you will use this site as your gateway to workforce and career information in Vermilion County.

     The purpose of the IETC is to bring together employment and training services together to better serve business customers and job seekers in the community.

     The IETC strives to serve business customers with pre–employment testing, training reimbursements, emergency assistance adapted to a particular lay offs/closings, unemployment information and other additional services.

     The IETC strives to serve job seekers through the effective programs which have helped thousands of individuals find information about job vacancies, career options, employment trends, training programs and other additional services.

     The Operators and the IETC Partners working together oversee the IETC daily management.  The Operator’s of the IETC that have been appointed by the County Board are:  Illinois Department of Employment Security, Danville Area Community College, Department of Human Services – Division of Human Capital Development and Division of Human Services – Division of Rehabilitation Services. 

     The Vermilion County Workforce Investment Board (VCWIB) is a 44-member board with the majority of the Board Members being Business Representatives.  The VCWIB oversees the Management of the IETC. 

     The chairman of the County Board serves as the chief elected official of the Vermilion County Workforce Investment Board.  The chairman along with a concurrence from a majority of the County Board appoints the members of the VCWIB.  The VCWIB appoints among their Business Representatives a chairman for the Workforce Investment Board (WIB).  The current WIB chairman is Jeff Fauver. 

     The current County Board as of January 1, 2006 is made up of: District #1 – Gary Weinard, Hoopeston; Patricia “Pat” Bailey, Hoopeston; Chris Leigh, Rankin.  District #2 – Kevin Green, Fithian; Jerry Kleiner, Danville; John Alexander, Potomac.  District #3 – William “Bill” Boyer, Indianola; Matt Myrick, Fairmount; Rick Knight, Indianola. District #4 Ed Barney Jr., Westville: Bob McMurray, Georgetown; Terry Stal, Georgetown. District #5 – Chuck White, Tilton; Orick “Corky” Nightlinger, Danville; Nikki Bogart, Danville.  District #6  - Bob Fox, Danville; Craig Chambers, Danville; Russ Pollitt, Danville; District #7 William Donahue, Danville; Ramona Rollins, Danville; John Dreher, Danville.   District #8 Ivadale Foster, Danville; Bill Nelson, Danville; Karen McKissack, Danville. District #9 Jim “Mouse” McMahon, Danville; Bruce Stark, Danville; Jack Nalett, Danville.

     Currently William “Bill” Boyer is Chairman to the Vermilion County Board and Ed Barney is the Vice Chairman.
