Work Study and Student Worker Employment

Students who wish to earn money may be interested in looking into the Federal College Work-Study Program. This program offers students on-campus employment in such capacities as laboratory assistant, audio-visual aide, secretary, receptionist, etc. Eligibility for Federal College Work Study jobs is based upon the student's verified financial need as determined by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the U.S. Department of Education.

Additionally, students who are enrolled in at least nine credit hours and not eligible for work-study jobs may be interested in Student Worker positions which are not based on financial need. These positions, similar to work study positions, are available in a number of offices and areas campus-wide.

Applications for both Work Study and Student Worker Employment may be obtained from Human Resources (HR), Vermilion Hall. You must return your application and referral from to the Human Resources Office. Applications must be turned in by the end of the second week of the semester to be considered for employment during that semester. The HR Office will forward your Referral Form to Career Services. Careers Services will make the Referral Forms available to all potential student work supervisors. The supervisors will contact the applicants to schedule interviews and to make hiring decisions.
