Motsett, Dr. David Fields, Lou Mervis, Judge Rita Garman and Dr. Thomas Halloran.  This award is Danville Rotary Club's premier annual award. In honor of the occasion, the Club will also be awarding Dr. Jacobs with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award which is a symbol of commitment on the part of Rotarians to the Foundation's goal of furthering understanding and friendly relations between people of different nations.

Welcome back, Pi Omegans!  A new year is upon us and that means it is time to think about our activities for 2002-2003.  Remember that our current Honors Topic is "DImensions and Directions of Health:  Choices in the Maze," so anything related to health (physical, mental, spiritual...)  is a good choice.  Our International Service Project is an alliance with the American Cancer Society.  Please submit any ideas for activities to either your Chapter President, Abby Brooks, or to your Chapter Advisor, Lori Garrett.  Please check here for updates and visit our Upcoming Activities page to see what is already in the works.  This is your chapter, so please get involved and help determine our direction.

Congratulations, Jennifer Manning Vecellio!  Jen, one of our chapter secretaries, married longtime beau Gary Vecellio on Saturday, July 27th, in a beautiful ceremony.  New member Sara Woodard was one of Jen's bridesmaids.  The delightful event was witnessed by members Jessica Augustson and Karon Spencer, alumni member Nicole Pounds, advisor Lori, and fellow honorary member John Hoagland.  Jen and Gary, here's wishing you a very long and happy life together, and may your love grow with each passing year!

Welcome Presidential Scholarship recipients!    At a luncheon for Presidential Scholarship recipients, held on July 16, nine of ten students present accepted the invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa.  Sophomores are eligible for full membership and incoming freshmen are accepting Provisional membership until they earn enough credit hours for full membership.  Please welcome the following new members and 2001 Presidential Scholars:  Ben Sheehan and Sara Woodard.  Also welcome our new provisional members and 2002 Presidential Scholars:  Sam Cole, Natalie Davis, Ashley Haussy, Carly Lockard, Darcy Monyok, Jennifer Nicoson, and Elliott Schunke.
