Atlases and Geography sites

  • CIA World Factbook - overview information about the countries of the world with details about geography, population, government and military, economy, communications and transportation of each
  • Country Studies - e-book versions of Library of Congress texts about each country including detailed histories, economic information, government and national security concerns (some of the information is dated)
  • NationalAtlas.gov - provides access to a wide range of maps, printable and retrievable online, covering an assortment of data about the United States prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey. Everything from a variety of straight-forward state and road maps to maps of West Nile virus infiltration and presidential elections. The dynamic map-maker lets users create specific maps about various aspects of geology, biology and other subjects.
