A Successful Request

Now you are on the Request Page itself.

Enter your bar code again in the box for Library Borrower ID, and click Submit Request.

NOTE: You MAY NOT choose which library fills your request; this is determined by the system.

The system lets you know that your request has been successful.

An Unsuccessful Request

Sometimes the system will reject your request with the following message:

Requests can fail for various reasons.

• All the copies may have limited circulation, such as those in a college's course reserves or in a new book collection restricted to local users only.
• They may be missing or being repaired.

For these reasons a status may be temporary or permanent. It is unlikely a copy will be available soon, however. Users can return to their search to look for other editions of the item or other materials that may work as well. They can also ask a librarian for assistance in either locating a copy or finding additional research.

By clicking on the previous link, users return to their original search. This is true whether a request is successful or not. Click on one above to return to the Placing a Request in Illinet page.

And REMEMBER, if you have trouble with this, or any other stage in the research process, you can ask for Help! Ask your teacher! Ask Librarians! If you need to, just hit the PANIC button!
