Selecting a Research Topic

Why is topic selection so important?

Frustrated and Angry Researcher you can save yourself many headaches later.

 

Consider the following:

  • What is your Research Question?
  • Is the topic too broad?
  • Is the topic too narrow?
  • Can you find material?
  • Do you enjoy it (as much as you could possibly enjoy any research topic)?
  • If your first choice won't work for any reason, you'll want to have couple of alternative topics in mind as well.

And REMEMBER, you can ask for Help! Ask your teacher! Ask Librarians! If you need to, just hit the PANIC button!
