Scholarships For Students
Each year donors in the Danville Area present monetary awards to
DACC
students. Each of the donors determines the criteria for selection of
the
scholarship recipients. Approximately 200 awards are
presented
yearly. Recipients acknowledge their Donors at the annual Honors
Program
held in September. Scholarship applications are available in the DACC
Foundation
office as well as distributed across campus and at the WIA/JTP "One
Stop"
location at the Illinois Employment Security office. Scholarships are
distributed

The Datatel Scholars Foundation (DSF), an independent tax-exempt
foundation,
awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students attending

Datatel client institutions. Since its establishment in 1990, the

The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS),
funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was

all discipline areas and a graduate education for those students

The Hispanic Scholarship
Fund
(HSF) is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher
education.
HSF was founded in 1975 with a vision to strengthen the country by
advancing
college education among Hispanic Americans-the largest minority segment
of the U.S. population. In support of its mission to double the rate of
Hispanics earning college degrees, HSF provides the Latino community
more
college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other
organization

Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA)
Founded in 1973, OCA is a national organization dedicated to advancing
the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific
Americans
in the United States. OCA aims to embrace the hopes and aspirations of
nearly 12 million Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. The
Organization
of Chinese Americans, Inc. (OCA) has been provided with funding from
the
Avon Foundation to fund college scholarships for Asian Pacific American

United Negro College Fund is a fund-raising consortium of 39
private, fully accredited, four-year, historically black colleges and
universities.
As an educational assistance organization, The College Fund provides
operating

Tillman Military Scholarships -
The Pat Tillman Foundation <http://www.pattillmanfoundation.org/>
has announced that the new Leadership Through Action - Tillman Military
Scholars program is accepting applications. Individuals eligible
for the Leadership Through Action - Tillman Military Scholars program
include veterans and active service members of both pre- and post-9/11
service; service members who wish to start, finish, or further their
education; service members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces
(Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, and
Reserve); service members pursuing undergraduate, graduate,

Illinois community college students to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from
McKendree
College. McKendree College will provide scholarships valued at
$9,000

progress

Founded in 1828, McKendree College is located 20 minutes east of

The National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA) is sponsoring the Motivating
Undergraduates in Science and Technology (MUST) Program, offering support to
undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering and math
(STEM) disciplines across the United States. Program participants
receive a scholarship, NASA internship and access to a wealth of
professional development opportunities.
The Program offers:
*A one year
competitive scholarship* covering
up to one-half of tuition and fees, not to exceed $10,000 per academic
year. The scholarship is renewable through the
student's junior year pro-vided that all eligibility criteria continue
to be met.
*Support from MUST Professional and Academic Support System (PASS)*
providing scholars with an online student community and professional
development/leadership training.
*A $6,000
(10-week summer internship stipend) to participate* plus transportation and location
allowance not to exceed $1,000. Students will have the opportunity to
participate in a paid intern-ship at one of ten nationwide NASA
(National Aeronautics and Space Administration) centers.
*Invaluable resources, insight, and experience to further STEM
education and career aspirations from the MUST Consortium*, comprised
of three member organizations: the *Hispanic
College Fund*, the
*United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation*, and the
*Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers*.
Eligibility Requirements:
* Be a U.S. citizen. Students from underrepresented
groups (women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and
individuals from rural and low-income communities) are encouraged to

* Reside in the United States or a U.S. Territory.
* Be a college freshman, sophomore or junior and
hold full-time academic status at an accredited college or university
for the 2009-2010 academic year.
* Earn and maintain a cumulative grade point average
of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (un-weighted).

Be enrolled in STEM disciplines whose majors are aligned with NASA's
core competencies (physical science, technology, engineering, or
mathematics degree).

The Illinois Professional Land
Surveyors Association Student Scholarship Award and Community College
Scholarship Award. The Student Scholarship Award is
for students pursuing a 4 year degree in land surveying or in a related
science. The Community College Scholarship is for students
pursuing a degree associated with the land surveying

Women's Club Scholarship* -
This scholarship is primarily based on need. Women

Pulliam Memorial Scholarship (SIUC Alumni Association) *-
Criteria for this scholarship is as follows: 1) Child, grandchild
or sibling to an alumnus of SIUC who is a current member of the SIU

in long-term care in Illinois. Must have been accepted into
a nursing program. Must be working in an IHCA-member
assisted living, long-term care facility or DD facility/program either
