Illinois Monetary Award Program (MAP)
Suspension
of MAP Award
Announcements for 2011/12 Effective March 25, 2011
The Illinois Student Assistance
Commission (ISAC) is suspending the announcement of 2011-12 Monetary
Award Program (MAP) grants for all students whose initial 2011-12 Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is received by the Central
Processing System (CPS) on or after March 25, 2011. The decision to
suspend award announcements at this time is based on the Governor's
proposed FY2012 budget and the fact that the number of eligible
applications is higher than expected. However, this
date can be changed and announced awards (estimated or actual) can be
reduced or canceled at any time during the award year.
Please
note: Not all students who
apply for student aid are eligible for it and to be considered for the
MAP grant program you, as an Independent student, must have resided in
Illinois one year prior to the start of the upcoming fall term
(8/22/11) . If you are a dependent student the parent's whose
information was required on the FAFSA must be a current Illinois
resident.*
