| Personal Info: |
After teaching thirty-four years in Danville School District #118, I retired in May, 2009. My area of strength is in teaching reading. I have successfully designed, taught, and presented a systematic reading comprehension program that can be used for all ages.
I am married and have two daughters who both work in school settings. My interests include gardening, arts and crafts, writing, reading, playing cards, and helping in church activities. |

Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that every person deserves the right to the best possible education. I try to impart my expertise in reading with a strong emphasis on phonics and reading comprehension by using various mediums. PowerPoint lessons, hands on phonics lessons, and the daily use of current newspapers supplement the regular curriculum. My goal is to gently but firmly push, pull, and challenge each student.
