Steps to Enroll in EDUC Classes

  1. All counselors/academic advisors, faculty advisors, registration staff, and DACC downtown administrator/advisors are required to provide students in all Early Childhood Programs with the Acknowledgement of Early Childhood Background Check Requirement form. It is highly recommended that students read and sign this form prior to enrolling in any Early Childhood class.
  2. Screen 048 (check all pages) will have student information concerning the results of the criminal background check. All counselors/academic advisors, faculty advisors, registration staff, and DACC downtown administrator/advisors must check this screen prior to enrolling any student in an EDUC class for which a criminal background check is required (EDUC 111, 208, 209, 230).
  3. Before enrolling any student in an EDUC class for which a criminal background check is required, clearance must be indicated on screen 048 (Clear with a date).
  4. If (Clear with a date) is not indicated on screen 048, DO NOT ENROLL. There will be no exceptions.
  5. If a student has more than a one year break in enrollment, he/she will need to see the director of the Child Development Center at DACC to resubmit background check information. This must be done prior to enrollment in any EDUC class for which a background check is requires.
