Teaching Philosophy
I look forward to starting a new class every year. New students present
an opportunity for new adventure and discovery in the healthcare journey.
My teaching philosophy
is very simple: I believe in an open classroom setting where students
are encouraged and expected to participate. My ultimate goal is to produce
the most qualified Radiographers that any healthcare facility could hire.
My expectations of students
are to be mindful and respectful of others, to have integrity, demonstrate professionalism
and to enjoy and contribute to an atmosphere of experiential learning and creativity.
Successful students demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills, embrace
coping mechanisms that provide balance in one's daily life and express compassion
for the patient. The best way I know to convey this is to lead by example.
I have high expectations for my students but no more than I expect from myself.
