Teaching Philosophy
An effective teacher is one who is: sincere, honest, curious and open minded. An effective teacher must also be demanding and have high expectations of the students; otherwise, achievements based on mediocrity are hollow and meaningless.

I believe that high standards are best met by teachers exercising leadership and authority balanced with fostering an unintimidating learning environment. I strive to attain this by using humor in the classroom, relating complex concepts to common experiences and getting to know my students as people. This produces a relaxed atmosphere which promotes participation and interaction.
