What is Partnerships for College & Career Success (PCCS)

     The Illinois Partnerships for College & Career Success Program evolved from National Tech Prep Program which is an educational reform that is changing the way high school and college students learn across the United States. PCCS consist of a sequence of academic and technical courses taught at a minimum of the final two years of high school and leading to a college degree or certificate.  Programs may begin as early as ninth grade and articulate to a four year baccalaureate degree.

Purpose:
     The purpose for Partnerships for College and Career Success is to develop partnerships between education, business, industry, and labor in order to plan and implement:

  • Articulated Programs of Study linking secondary and post-secondary education
  • Study linking secondary and post-secondary education
  • Comprehensive career guidance
  • Integrated academic & vocational education
  • Real world academic and technical education
  • Work based learning
