Teaching Philosophy
As an instructor, I believe in the importance of community in the classroom, which stems primarily from my time spent in a MFA program. The workshop serves as the centerpiece for young writers to come to the craft of fiction or poetry with reactionary feedback from peers and professional feedback from instructors. It also builds those important relationships between peer writers that foster true growth and understanding in craft and technique. I strive to promote these interactions in the classroom and beyond.

Teaching Interests: Creative Writing, Literature, and Rhetoric. Faculty Advisor for Waiting for Rain, Coordinator of the David Brosi Poetry Award, and co-founder of the Axis and Allies War Game Club.
