Library Assistant/Technical Services

The Library Assistant/Technical Services oversees the materials acquisitions and processing functions of the Library, including purchasing and receiving, monitoring accounts, inputting data to online library catalogs, insuring the shelf-ready status of materials, accumulating and maintaining statistical data relative to acquisitions/cataloging, managing the serials and periodical collection, and assigning and monitoring student employees.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED Certificate; work experience with personal computers; demonstrated competencies in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; excellent organizational and general clerical skills; ability to manage work independently with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy; willingness to work in a team environment; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to transport library materials within the Library; a strong commitment to customer service.
Desired qualifications include two or more years of college; experience in library technical services/acquisitions or serials management; supervisory work experience; experience with automated library systems, especially the Ex Libris Voyager system; bookkeeping experience.Position is 46 weeks/year, 40 hours/week.
