COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to provide practical information to students concerning the career of the Certified Nurse Assistant profession and to determine if this is the career path they wish to take.
PREREQUISITES:

This course is not available for web registration.

COURSE OBJECTIVES / GOALS:
A. Understand the requirements of the CNA course.
B. Identify available health care facilities and agencies in the community.
C. Understand ethics as it pertains to appearance, both physical, emotional, and conduct.
D. Understand the importance of written application and job interview.
E. Complete a written application correctly.
F. Recognize appropriate appearance for job interview, dress and hygiene.
G. Become aware of questions that may be asked at interview and responses.
H. Increase awareness of the many departments required for the nursing home to function.
I. Become aware of requirements of employment.
J. Understand standard of care expected.
K. Motivate student to give good patient care.
L. Increase knowledge of patient needs.
