COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Traces the historical development and the relationship between law enforcement and society; examines the functions and jurisdictions of various agencies.
PREREQUISITES:
Place into ENGL121 or concurrent enrollment in DEVE098.
NOTES:

COURSE OBJECTIVES / GOALS:
This course integrates and reinforces policy implications, concepts, computer application and web based reinforcement to strategies that will guide a student to:

1. Discuss the development of law enforcement from its early origin to present day.
2. Discuss what the criminal justice response to crime entails in the United States.
3. Discuss the nature of crime measurement, theories, and the criminal law that addresses crime.
4. Discuss the components and operation of the criminal justice system.
