COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A course of preventive action designed to teach/identify non-violent methods of expressing feelings and solving conflicts.
PREREQUISITES:

COURSE OBJECTIVES / GOALS:
A. Understand that non-vilence can be taught and learned.
B. Understand the role of violence in history and its implication in society today.
C. Exploration of verbal and non-verbal behaviors that reflect attitudes leading to conflict development.
D. Identification of feelings and exploration of reactions to those feelings.
E. Awareness of the role of stress in the development and expression of violence.
F. Discussion of violent and non-violent forms of discipline.
G. Involvement in activities that promote non-violence.
H. Formulation of personal plan of non-violence based upon ideas and activities presented in the course.
I. Contrast of games, toys, audio/visual media and reading materials available to children.
