RE: Closing Procedures - DACC
Every effort is made to anticipate inclement weather and other extraordinary
events that would necessitate the College to be closed.
Employees are encouraged to listen to area radio and TV stations* for
communication regarding these events.
In the event of inclement weather, an announcement will be made that,
"Classes are canceled, College is closed." In the event that staff members
are to report to work, or that the college will open at a later time, the
media will be notified that, "Classes are canceled but offices will be
open." Faculty need not report to work unless classes resume.
Additionally, there are some personnel who by the nature of their position
will be working when classes are canceled. These people will be notified by
their Administrator.
In the event the COLLEGE IS CLOSED during the work day, all staff and
students may go home. Staff should listen to area radio and TV stations to
learn when the College has re-opened.
In the event CLASSES ARE CANCELED, students may leave but the staff should
continue with their regular working hours. After the closing/cancellation
decision has been made, the Information office will notify the building
contacts as to whether the COLLEGE IS CLOSED or CLASSES ARE CANCELED.
