Tractor Trailer Driver Training

    DACC Tractor Trailer Driver Training provides the necessary training for men and women to prepare for a career in the trucking industry. This program has a ratio of four students per trainer. The curriculum for this course was designed to meet and exceed industry standards as well as the requirements of the Illinois Secretary of State's licensing standards.

DACC offers a 240 hour program in three formats:

  • The 6 Week Day Course is conducted Monday - Friday from 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m.
  • The 15 Weekend Course is conducted Saturday & Sunday from 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m.
  • The 8 & 12 Week Night Course is conducted Monday - Friday 5:00 - 9:00p.m.

    The DACC program is recognized as an eleven (11) hour credit course by the Illinois Community College Board. Upon successful completion of the program a Certificate of Completion is awarded to the students.

     Students attending this program under Pell Grant (16 credit hours) are required to do a 10 week externship in addition to the 6 weeks training on campus.

    Employment Assistance is available. Recruiters from various companies visit our classes on a regular basis. Most students will receive multiple job offers during their training period.

Qualifications:

  • Be 21 years of age (For Interstate Drivers)
  • Possess a valid Drivers License
  • Successfully pass DOT Physical & Drug Screen
  • Be able to Read, Speak, and understand English (it is recommended that individuals obtain a copy of their driver record prior to starting the program)

The following may disqualify individuals:

  • Driving record inconsistent with industry standards.
  • Any alcohol or drug violations on motor vehicle record in the past three years.
  • Recent felony convictions or criminal background.
  • History of drug or alcohol abuse.
  • Permanent disability or physical limitations.

Course Fees:

Tractor Trailer Driver Training $3,487.00
(There are no charges for books or supplies)

Illinois Class A CDL Permit and License Fee $50.00

Individuals are responsible for the cost of the D.O.T physical and drug screen.

Payment Methods:

  • Payment plan provided through FACTS Tuitions Management, Inc.
  • PLATO or TERI - A private bank that specializes in student loans.
  • VISA or MASTERCARD
  • VA Benefits - Illinois Veterans' Grant
  • JTP or WIA - Contact your local job service office to see if you qualify.
  • Pell Grant - (For 6 week Program Only) This Federal Grant is available for all classes if you qualify. (Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.)
