Student Senate
Students at DACC are represented by a twelve-member Student Senate. Senator elections are held each September. Senators must maintain a minimum semester and cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (“C”) and carry a minimum of nine semester hours. Petitions for a senate seat may be obtained from the Student Senate Advisor at the beginning of the fall semester.
The purposes of the Student Senate are:Students are encouraged to contact their Student Senators. The Student Senate office is located in Lincoln Hall, Room 113. The phone number is 443-8807.
Non-Voting Student Trustee
Each community college board shall have one non-voting member who is a student enrolled in the community college under the jurisdiction of the Board. The election is held in April by the student body. Qualifications are published annually by the Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
Holding Office
A student must be carrying six or more semester hours of work to hold an elected or appointed office in College organizations. A student with less than a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 cannot hold office in any organization. (See DACC Student Handbook for additional information.)
