Dual Enrollment at DACC

You Could Be Earning College Credit....in High School!

What is Dual Enrollment? Dual Enrollment means that a student is taking a class that will be used for high school credit AND for college credit. Credit for the course(s) is placed on the student's high school diploma. Concurrently, credit is placed on an official DACC transcript.

Dual Enrollment Steps/Procedures:

  1. At the High School: Talk to your high school counselor about the following:
    1. Are you academically prepared for a dual enrollment course?
    2. What course(s) do you want to take?
    3. Are there any prerequisites to the course?
    4. Is the high school willing to accept the course as high school credit too?
    5. Complete and send the "High School Enrollment Permission" form to DACC.
  2. At DACC: Admissions Office, Vermilion Hall, 2000 E. Main Street, Danville, IL 61832
    1. Complete a DACC Application form and return it to the Admissions Office
    2. Inquire about course prerequisites.
    3. Sign-up for ASSET placement assessment if needed for course. (Call 443-8708)
    4. Hand-in required "High School Enrollment Permission" form.
    5. Register for course(s).
    6. Verify if any tuition or fees will be due.
  3. Attend the Course!
  4. An academic transcript will be sent to your high school at the end of the academic semester you are enrolled in.
  5. Your grades will be mailed to your home.
Guidelines to Keep in Mind:

Students are required to take any placement assessments necessary for the chosen college course. (The college administers the ASSET placement assessment or ACT/SAT scores may be used too. A foreign-language assessment is required for enrollment in all foreign language courses above the entry-level DACC course.)

ACT/SAT course placement requirements.

Dual Enrollment opportunities may be offered to high school students in the following settings: on the DACC campus; at a DACC extension center site; during the regular school day at the student's home high school, or via alternative delivery courses such as online courses or video courses.

For Dual Enrollment courses, students attending an Illinois high school in the DACC district, do not pay tuition, but are responsible for fees and books when applicable.
