Calculating Your GPA Your grade point average can be determined by dividing your Quality Points Earned by Quality
Hours Earned. Please note that all courses taken at DACC do not figure into Quality Points
and Hours. These courses will have 0.0 noted on your transcript. Counselors, advisors, and
registration staff can help you decipher which courses should be counted.
What Would Your GPA be on a 4.0 Grade Point Scale? To equate a grade point average based on a 5.0 scale to a grade point average on a 4.0
scale, subtract 1.0 points from the 5.0 grade point average. This will be your grade point
average on the 4.0 scale.
Grade Calculation if You Repeat a Course A student may file notice and repeat any course, and the higher grade earned will be used to
compute the cumulative grade point average. Please note that other colleges and universities
that you may transfer your DACC courses to have the option to re-calculate your grade point
average using both grades.
