All people age 18 and over (including students enrolled in Early Childhood classes, student employees, and volunteers) having "contact and opportunity" with children in Day Care settings will be subject to a background criminal investigation including fingerprinting. All persons subject to background checks will be processed through the Child Abuse Neglect Tracking System (CANTS) and the Statewide Child Sex Offender Database.

Background check of all people who have completed the fingerprint process will be submitted to the Illinois State Police for a criminal history and FBI check.
