Transfer Admission Requirements

  1. 2.0 Grade Point Average (4.0 scale)
NOTES
  1. Pre-medical students may choose any major to receive a Bachelor's Degree.  Requirements of the degree and of the College in which it is granted must be met at the same time that pre-medical requirements are taken.  If a science major is chosen, there will be considerable overlapping of requirements.
  2. Community college students are encouraged to complete foreign language and associate degree requirements before transferring.
  3. The foreign language requirement is waived if a student has completed three (3) years of foreign language in High School with a grade of "C" or above.  Counts as Humanities elective for DACC.  Student will need six (6) hours of humanities if foreign language is not taken.
  4. DACC recommends a three (3) hour course in Third World or Non-Western Culture, either in Humanities or Social Science.
  5. BIOL 136 and BIOL 137, Anatomy & Physiology I and II, are recommended for pre-med preparation (not a mandatory requirement).  Can be taken at SIU.
  6. Effective Fall 1992, new students or re-entering students absent more than two years and seeking an A.S.A. degree are required to take at least one course with human relations content.  See your counselor for list of courses that fulfill this requirement.
