Transfer Admission Requirements

  1. 2.5 Grade Point Average (4.0 scale).
  2. Completion of an admission package in addition to the university application is required for acceptance into the Athletic Training Program. For more information see a DACC counselor or an advisor.
ADMISSION TO THE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM

Students are eligible to make formal application to the program with:

  1. A minimum of 30 semester hours of completed work.
  2. An overall grade point average of at least 2.75 (4.0 Scale).
  3. Completion of ENGL 101 and ENGL 102 (Rhetoric I and II) with a grade of "C" or better.
  4. An ACT score of 18. Conditional admission may be granted to students who do not meet ACT standards. See your counselor for details.
  5. Three letters of recommendation from college or university faculty (transfer students may bring letters of recommendation from school (s) previously attended.
  6. Pass the Illinois Basic Skills Test.
NOTES
  1. DACC recommends a three (3) hour course in Third World or Non-Western Culture, either in Humanities or Social Science. It is required for teacher certification majors.
  2. Effective Fall 1992, new students or re-entering students absent more than two years and seeking an A.S.A. degree are required to take at least one course with human relations content. See your counselor for list of courses that fulfill this requirement.
