Comments From the Industrial Technology Advisor

Transfer students in Industrial Technology with an Associate Degree from a baccalaureate-oriented program are not required to complete the University's General Education requirements.  However, the Industrial Technology program accreditation requires as a minimum, nine semester hours of English composition and speech and ten semester hours of social sciences and humanities.

Students with an Associate in Applied Science degree from a regionally accredited institution may qualify for the Capstone Option Program.  A special application is required for Capstone and must be submitted no later than the completion of the student's first semester in Industrial Technology at SIUC.  The Capstone Option Program has the following general education requirements:

6 semester hours of GEA (Physical and Biological Sciences)
  (PHYS 203A, 203B, 253A, 253B will satisfy this requirement)
6 semester hours of GEB (Social Sciences)
6 semester hours of GEC (Humanities)
9 semester hours of GED (Organization and Communications)
  (English Composition, Speech, Math)
3 semester hours of GEE (Health Education and Physical Education)

Non-Capstone students must complete the general education requirements as listed in the Undergraduate Catalog.
