Transfer Admission Requirements

  1. 2.0 Grade Point Average (4.0 scale)
NOTES
  1. English majors may specialize in the following:  General Pregraduate, Preprofessional, and Creative Writing.
  2. DACC recommends a three (3) hour course in Third World or Non-Western Culture, either in Humanities or Social Science.
  3. Effective Fall 1992, new students or re-entering students absent more than two years and seeking an A.S.A. degree are required to take at least one course with human relations content.  See your counselor for a list of courses that fulfill this requirement.
  4. SIU's College of LAS requires foreign language at the 2nd semester college level.  This is equivalent to 2 years of one foreign language in high school, but SIU requires that a proficiency test be passed if 2 semesters are not completed at the college level.
