Transfer Admission Requirements

  1. Students are advised to complete the mathematics and chemistry course sequences before transferring.  Often times students miss essential information when changing colleges.
  2. Transfer students entering an engineering program with an Associate Degree from baccalaureate-oriented program area not required to complete the University’s General Education requirements.
  3. Students who have completed twenty-six semester hours or more and have an overall average of 2.4 may be admitted directly into an engineering program.
  4. Students who have completed twenty-six to sixty semester hours and have a grade point average between 2.0 and 2.39 may be admitted to the pre-engineering classification.  These students should submit their high school records and ACT scores to the Admissions Office at the same time they apply for admission.  Students who have completed twenty-six to sixty semester hours and have a 2.0 through 2.39 grade point average may, in special cases, be admitted to an engineering program by one of the Engineering Departments.  Such a student, however, may not transfer to another Engineering Department without consent of that Department.

NOTES

  1. DACC recommends a three (3) hour course in Third World or Non-Western Culture, either in Humanities or Social Science.
  2. Effective Fall 1992, new students or re-entering students absent more than two years and seeking an A.S.A. degree are required to take at least one course with human relations content.  See your counselor for a list of courses that fulfill this requirement.
