Transfer Admission Requirements

  1. 2.0 Grade Point Average (4.0 scale)
ADMISSION CRITERIA TO THE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM
  1. A minimum of 30 semester hours of completed work.
  2. An overall grade point average of at least 2.75(4.0 scale).
  3. Completion of English 101 and 102 with a grade of C or better.
  4. Two letters of recommendation from college or university faculty.
  5. Pass the Illinois Basic Skills Test.
NOTES
  1. Areas of specialization are the following:  Clinical Specialization and Public School Specialization.
  2. Recommended Physical Sciences are:  PHYS 142, Physical Science II; PHYS 114, Physical Geology; CHEM 101, College Chemistry I.
  3. A master's degree is required for both state and national certification.
  4. DACC recommends a three (3) hour course in Third World or Non-Western Culture, either in Humanities or Social Science.  It is required for teacher certification majors.
  5. Effective Fall 1992, new students or re-entering students absent more than two years and seeking an A.S.A. degree are required to take at least one course with human relations content.  See your counselor for list of courses that fulfill this requirement.
