Transfer Admission Requirements

  1. 2.0 Grade Point Average (4.0 scale) for general admission, 2.0 Grade Point Average (4.0 scale) for the College of Business and Administration
Transfer Admission Criteria for the College of Business and Administration
  1. Finance majors may specialize in financial management or financial institutions.  Financial management provides a background for a career in financial operations of business firms and public institutions while financial institutions is a specialty for those interested in careers related to financial intermediaries and financial markets.
  2. Business Administration majors must have a secondary concentration of 20-23 semester hours while Economics, Management, Accounting, Marketing and Finance do not require a minor.
  3. Management majors may specialize in management, entrepreneurship, management information systems, and operations management.
  4. Transfer students with less than 26 hours must meet new freshman requirements and have a GPA of 2.0.
  5. DACC recommends a three (3) hour course in Third World or Non-Western Culture, either in Humanities or Social Science.
  6. Effective Fall 1992, new students or re-entering students absent more than two years and seeking an A.S.A. degree are required to take at least one course with human relations content.  See your counselor for list of courses that fulfill this requirement.
  7. Accounting Majors are required to have a “C” or higher in CACC 101 and CACC 105 as a prerequisite for higher level accounting classes.
  8. Business Law I and II is required for Business Administration, Business Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing majors.  Accounting majors may take Business Law I, but a different course sequence (taken at SIU) is highly recommended.
