Transfer Admission Requirements

NOTES
  1. Public Relations majors must complete a minor or a second major in a department other than Communications.  A minor or second major should not be in Speech or Mass Communications.  Possible selections for a minor or second major are as follows:  Political Science, Sociology, English, Writing, Sciences, Health Sciences, etc.
  2. DACC recommends a three (3) hour course in Third World or Non-Western Culture, either in Humanities or Social Science.
  3. Effective Fall 1992, new students or re-entering students absent more than two years and seeking an A.S.A. degree are required to take at least one course with human relations content.  See your counselor for list of courses that fulfill this requirement.
  4. ISU has initiated new graduation requirements effective Fall, 1999 for first-time or readmitted students.  They now require two additional classes that are in addition to general education requirements.  The DACC classes that can be used to fulfill these requirements are POLI 160, GEOG 134, or ANTH 107 for all majors, and the third level of a college foreign language for a BA in Public Relations.  Students who want ISU’s BS degree in Public Relations can fulfill the foreign language requirement with 3 years of one foreign language in high school or completion of the 2nd semester or higher of college-level foreign language with grades of "C" or better or equivalent proficiency as determined by exam.  American Sign Language may be used to fulfill this requirement by transfer credit or by proficiency.  Also, choose one class from the following list:
