Transfer Admission Requirements

  1. 2.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average (4.0 scale) and a 2.50 average in all courses required by the major.  Highly competitive.
  2. Only courses in which the student has received a grade of “C” or higher may be counted towards the ACS hours required for the major.
NOTES
  1. Computer Information Systems Sequence is designed for the student who will seek a position as an information systems professional or PC/LAN support person, or is interested in pursuing graduate studies in Information Systems.
  2. ISU has initiated new graduation requirements effective Fall, 1999 for first-time or readmitted students.  They now require two additional classes that are in addition to general education requirements.  The DACC classes that can be used to fulfill these requirements are POLI 160, GEOG 134, or ANTH 107 for all majors, and:
  3. for this major.  If none of these classes are desired by the student, a general elective may be taken at DACC (if necessary) to achieve 60 hours and the A.S.A. degree, and the two additional classes may be taken at ISU, where there are more choices from which to select..  Students who choose this alternative can use MATH 111 and MATH 114 as general electives.
  4. A minor or second major must be completed.  Recommended areas include Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, and Mathematics.
  5. It usually takes a transfer student who has completed this Associate of Science Degree an additional 5 or 6 semesters at ISU to complete the B.S. Degree in Computer Science.
  6. DACC recommends a three (3) hour course in Third World or Non-Western Culture, either in Humanities or Social Science.
  7. Effective Fall 1992, new students or re-entering students absent more than two years and seeking an A.S.A. degree are required to take at least one course with human relations content.  See your counselor for list of courses that fulfill this requirement.
