The Teaching Assistant Option in the Education Program meets the requirement of the State of Illinois for the training of teaching assistants. A criminal background check is required for all courses for which students must complete observation hours. Students must complete the criminal background check only once, as long as students are continuously enrolled. Students completing their practicums must meet DCFS requirements.

This program is an occupational program typically not designed to transfer;
however, this program has been articulated to some senior institutions.
