Associate in Applied Science Degree

This Fire Science curriculum is designed to give students the academic background and initial training for careers in fire fighting. Upon completion of the program, a DACC Associate in Applied Science degree will be granted. If a student meets eligibility requirements and successfully passes the Illinois State Fire Marshal's final exam, Firefighter II and Fire Officer I certification will be granted. This is a career curriculum, not meant for Baccalaureate degree transfer.

**Course is waived for all active duty fire fighters with documentation.

+Eligibility for Illinois State Fire Marshal Certification: student must be 18 years old before day of final exam and an active member of a fire department, whether on paid or volunteer status.

Enrollment in developmental classes may increase the length of time it takes to complete an Associate Degree.

Human Relations requirements.

(C)  Career credit.  (T) Transfer credit.

Credit will be granted to students holding Illinois State Fire Marshal certificates issued from the latest version of the test.
